cold cold smothering

we’re in darmstadt for a couple more hours now before heading on up to kassel. what was meant to be a 2 hour drive turned into 5 as i was stupid enough to leave the keyboard stand back in stuttgart. it’s amazing how such a simple thing can change your whole day, sometimes for the better but mostly more complicated. it all worked out in the end but needless to say i wasn’t the most popular passenger in the van. it’s incredibly cold here and of course we are questioning once again why we always end up in europe in the winter time. it seems we are in the endless search for winter, dissatisfied with any kind of warmth or sunshine. it’s always nice to drive through the snow though, as we see so little of it back home. the last few weeks have been quite overwhealming. we have been moving so quickly and seeing so many people we haven’t seen for over a year and a half it’s hard to keep track of what day it is let alone what town you’re in. but still it’s been a lot of fun. we were in austria for the first time and played this little basement club in vienna after driving through the alps. such incredible landscapes.. they didn’t look real. it felt as though we had somehow stumbled onto a soundstage and the fresh backdrops had just been put up with little thought put into how convincing they were. anyway, today we have a short drive so we might even get to see something that isn’t inside the van or venue. i know it just doesn’t seem right actually seeing anything of the places we visit but it would be a nice change. we’ll see what happens… that’s usually the point some idiot like me leaves something somewhere. still, spirits in the van are good and we are looking forward to doing some recording in france in a week or so. we met a guy in brighton who’s folks own it and it all fell into place. it’ll give us a chance to record that bon jovi tribute album we’ve been talking about for so long:) better go now.. get back in the van. i can’t wait. k __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
